I’m a passionate and effective educator with 6+ years experience who cares deeply for my students.
I developed this passion as a volunteer at an after-school program during college. This led me to teach for 5 months as a tutor for a non-profit private school in Guatemala City.
After returning, I obtained my teaching certificate in early childhood through 6th grade and English as a second language. I began by volunteering at a local charter school before teaching kindergarten there for 3 years, developing a passion for teaching phonics and number sense.
I then moved to R. Elementary, where I learned to set high expectations for my 4th graders and myself. We modeled best practices, developed strategies for responding to student needs, and set measurable goals that we monitored in real time.
As I transitioned to tutoring I was overwhelmed with joy seeing the positive impact one on one instruction had on my students. I truly love what I do.
